5 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your GMC Dealership

Are you looking for the best place to get car financing? Apply for a loan through your GMC dealership. Dealership financing is an incredible option for a wide range of buyers, from people with low credit scores to people with perfect ones. Let's take a look at some of the benefits. 5 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your GMC Dealership 1. A Low Credit Score Is No Problem Is your credit score not in the best shape? That's completely okay. Having a poor credit history doesn't mean it's impossible for you to get a car loan, even if credit unions, banks, and online lenders deny your application. Dealerships frequently offer auto loans to people who don't have a great credit score, so it's always worth applying for financing at your dealer. 2. A Great Credit Score Can Get You a Low-Interest Loan Looking for the lowest interest rates possible? If your credit is in great shape, then you may qualify for a car loan with a very low interest rate—even 0% APR. Always check if your local dealer has any promotions running at the time. Promotional offers at dealerships are how qualified buyers can often secure loans with these incredibly low interest rates. 3. A Streamlined Process Saves Time Looking to make the car buying process go by as quickly as possible? If you head to the dealer, then you can take care of all aspects of selling your old car and buying a new one in a single day. Here's what you can do in just one trip when you head to your local dealer: Pick a new car Trade in your old vehicle Apply for financing Get approved for your loan Finalize your trade-in and sale 4. An Online Credit Application Is Super Convenient Want to get approved before you start shopping? Our dealership lets you apply for a loan online and get pre-approved, so you'll know whether you can get a car loan without even leaving the house. Once you're approved, you can then figure out your budget before you even come to the dealership and start looking at vehicles. Pre-approval allows you to get organized quickly from the comfort of your own home. 5. A Loan From a Dealership Doesn't Limit You Would you prefer a shopping experience without limits? Getting financing through a bank or credit union often limits your options when you're shopping for a new car. You may have to shop from a dealer within the lender's network, but there's never a guarantee that you'll find the car you want at one of those dealerships. Getting financing through a dealership allows you freedom of choice. You can pick a dealership that you know stocks the car you want. Finance your car at Dutch Miller's Beckley Automall in Beckley, WV. You can get pre-approved online through our website today.

Illuminated headlights on a 2024 Hummer

6 Signs Your GMC Needs New Headlights

Headlights help you navigate in the dark and through stormy weather. They also make sure other drivers can see you coming. Like everything else, headlights don't last forever. Here are some signs it might be time to visit the GMC dealer for new headlights. 6 Signs Your GMC Needs New Headlights 1. Dim Lights When your headlights aren't as bright as they used to be, it's a clear sign they're wearing out. Dim headlights can make it tough to see the road ahead and decrease your visibility to other drivers. That isn't ideal for anyone's safety. If your once bright lights now only produce a dull glow, it might be time for a change. 2. Flickering Lights If your headlights are flickering, you should pay attention. Flickering can point to a few issues, like loose connections, a bulb on its last legs, or even an electrical system hiccup. Don't wait for the flickering to turn into a blackout: get them checked out. 3. One Headlight Down Driving around with one headlight is not as effective as you think. Besides reducing your visibility, it can confuse other drivers and is illegal in most places. If one of your headlights has called it quits, it's time for a replacement. 4. Cracked or Cloudy Headlights Headlights that are cracked, have holes, or look cloudy may not be able to put out as much light as they used to. Cracked headlights can allow water to enter the assembly and damage any electronic components the moisture can reach. Cloudiness is often due to oxidation from exposure to the sun. For both of these issues, replacement is the best long-term option for a complete fix. 5. Color Shifting Notice your headlights looking a bit yellow or pink instead of bright white? That's a classic sign the bulb is on its way out. Swapping in new bulbs can bring back that crisp, white light. 6. High Beams Aren't Working If flipping on the high beams does nothing while your low beams are fine, there's likely an issue with the high beam bulbs or circuit. High beams are essential for those dark, unlit roads, so don't put off fixing them. Visit Your GMC Dealer for Help with Your Headlights Keeping your headlights in working order is key for safe driving. If you're noticing any of these signs, it may be time to replace your headlights. Dropping by your local dealership can ensure you get the right fix. Take the time to care for your headlights and keep them shining bright. Come by Dutch Miller's Beckley Automall in Beckley, WV, and let us take a look at your lights!

Batter Dead? 6 Steps for Jump Starting Your GMC

A dead battery is a major problem. The battery is responsible for supplying the electrical charge that cranks your engine. Without this charge, your car won't move. Fortunately, you can often jump-start a battery to get your engine started so you can get to us for a battery replacement. As your GMC dealer, we want to tell you the steps in jump-starting your car. Battery Dead? 6 Steps From Your GMC Dealer on Jump-Starting Your Car Park Close When you jump-start, you're transferring electricity from a healthy battery to your dead battery. It's important to park the car with a healthy battery as close to your car as possible. This places less strain on the jumper cables and also allows the electricity to move faster and with less loss in transmission. Connecting the Cables A set of jumper cables has a red and a black cable. The ends of the cables have metal clamps that must be attached to the terminals of the two batteries. The cables must be connected in a precise order, as an incorrect connection can damage the battery or start a fire. It's also essential that the black and red cables don't touch at any time. The correct connection order is: Red Cables First Take one end of the red cable and connect it to the positive terminal on your dead battery. The clamp must be secure on the terminal. Once the connection is secure, connect the other red clamp to the positive terminal on the working battery. Black Cables Second Once the red cables are secure, connect one of the black cables to the negative terminal on the healthy battery. The final black cable must not be connected to the negative terminal on the dead battery. This is vitally important as it could potentially start a fire. This last clamp must instead be connected to any unpainted metal section under the hood. Start the Engine Start the engine of the car with a healthy battery and allow it to idle for several minutes. Electricity will start to flow from the healthy battery to the dead battery. Then try and start your engine. If the engine starts, let it idle for a few minutes and remove the cables. If the engine doesn't start, continue to idle for 10 to 15 minutes, and then try and start the engine again. Remove the Clamps The clamps must also be removed in a particular order. First, remove the negative cable from the unpainted metal in your engine. Then remove the red cable from the positive terminal of your battery. Next, remove the red cable from the positive terminal of the healthy battery and then remove the black cable from the negative terminal of the healthy battery. Now you know how to jump-start a car. Mastering the Basics: How to Change a Tire on Your GMC

Not sure how to change a tire? While it can be a hiccup in your journey, changing a tire is a fundamental skill that every GMC owner should have. Let's walk through how to safely and correctly change a tire, courtesy of your GMC dealer. How to Change a Tire on Your GMC Step 1: Pull Over Safely When you encounter a flat, pull over to a level, safe, stable area away from traffic. Turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers you are stationary. Then, apply the parking brake. This reduces the risk of your vehicle rolling. Step 2: Loosen the Lug Nuts Before lifting the car with your jack, remove the wheel cover if your tire has a hubcap that covers the lug nuts. Using the lug wrench, turn the nuts counterclockwise. Don't remove them completely yet; just break their resistance. Step 3: Lift the Vehicle Now it's time to use the jack. Refer to your GMC's owner's manual for the specific place to put your jack, as its placement will vary by vehicle model. Pump or crank the jack to lift your car until the flat tire is about six inches off the ground. Step 4: Remove the Flat Tire With the vehicle lifted, you can remove the tire. Now that they're loose, unscrew the lug nuts and remove them completely. Then, gently pull the tire toward you until it's free of the hub. Step 5: Mount the Spare Tire Take the spare tire and mount it on your GMC. Make sure to align the rim with the wheel bolts. Next, it's time to screw on the lug nuts. Put them back on and tighten them by hand as much as you can. Step 6: Lower the Vehicle and Tighten the Nuts It's time to bring your car back down. Slowly lower the vehicle back to the ground and remove the jack. Using the wrench, tighten the nuts in a star pattern. This ensures the tire is balanced. Don't over-tighten them, but make sure they are very snug. Step 7: Replace the Hubcap and Stow Equipment Put the jack, wrench, and flat tire back in your car. If your vehicle has a hubcap, stow it with your tire. Step 8: Visit the GMC Dealer Check the spare tire's pressure to ensure it's safe to drive on. Then, head to the nearest dealership to have your tire checked out. It may be possible for the tire to be patched, but perhaps you will need to replace it. Either way, the friendly experts at the dealer will have you back on the road in no time! By following these steps, you can handle this situation with confidence and ease. Remember, regular maintenance and checking your tires frequently can reduce your chances of having a flat tire. Visit Dutch Miller's Beckley Automall to have your tires inspected today!
